How the Pocket Measure app, website and support work.
This is a translation for convenience. If the texts differ, the Russian version prevails.
Who is responsible for the data
The developer of Pocket Measure and the person responsible for processing website and support data is Sergei Koroshev, self-employed, Russian taxpayer ID (INN) 772422836834. Contact: support@pocketmeasure.ru.
Measurements that stay only on your phone are never sent to the developer. Support requests and technical requests to the website are processed as described below.
Camera and sensors
Camera frames are processed on the device for AR measurement. Pocket Measure does not upload images or measurement results to its own server. Sensor readings are used on the phone for the level and the angle finder.
Camera permission is required for the tape measure and area. Other tools do not need camera access.
Settings and history
Settings, calibration values and measurement history are stored in the app's private storage. The app has no registration, no advertising and no cloud sync of measurements.
Optional diagnostics
Only after your explicit consent does the app activate AppMetrica, an analytics service provided by Yandex LLC. It receives information about sessions, opened tool screens, the fact that a measurement was completed (without its value), app and OS versions, general device characteristics and crash diagnostics.
Advertising-identifier and location collection are explicitly disabled. Measurement results, camera frames, shared snapshots, saved history and sensor readings are not sent to AppMetrica. You can withdraw consent in the app settings, which turns off sending data to AppMetrica. Information already sent is processed under the Yandex Privacy Policy and the AppMetrica terms.
Update checks via RuStore
Starting with version 1.0.1, the app may check for a new version through the official RuStore SDK. For this check, the SDK contacts RuStore and may process technical information about the app and device. The check does not send measurement results, history or camera frames to RuStore. If RuStore is missing or unavailable on the device, the app's tools keep working. RuStore's data processing is described in the RuStore privacy policy.
When you share a result
A snapshot of an AR measurement is created in a temporary cache when you ask for it. Only the app you choose in the Android share menu gets access to it. The measurement text is also sent only at your request.
Further processing of a shared result is governed by the terms of the service you choose.
Google Play Services for AR
On compatible devices, the tape measure and area use Google Play Services for AR (ARCore). This component is governed by Google's terms, including the Google Privacy Policy.
The level, angle finder, on-screen ruler, settings and history do not require ARCore.
Deleting and transferring data
You can delete individual records or clear the history in the app. All local data can be deleted through Android settings.
The history is excluded from Android cloud backup. A direct device-to-device transfer started by the user may include app data.
The pocketmeasure.ru website
The website has no advertising scripts, analytics counters, registration or payment forms added by us. It does not use its own cookies or browser storage. Images and styles are served from the same hosting.
When pages load, the Timeweb hosting server receives technical request data, including the IP address, time of the request, the requested page and browser information. This data may be recorded in server logs to operate and protect the website. The website does not send your measurements to the hosting.
Support requests
If you write to support@pocketmeasure.ru, we receive the sender's address, the message and any files you attach. They are used to reply and investigate the problem. Mail delivery and storage are provided by the Timeweb mail service.
The "Email the developer", "Report a problem" and "Report an inaccurate result" buttons in the app open a draft in your own mail app. The draft includes the app version, Android version, phone model, a short technical AR state and, for accuracy reports, the shown measurement value. You see and can edit the whole text; the app itself sends nothing.
Please do not send unnecessary personal data. To delete correspondence and attachments, write to the same address. Applicable document-retention requirements are taken into account when handling the request.
Buying Pocket Measure Pro
When a purchase starts, the app sends the server a random installation identifier and the email address you enter. The server stores a hash of the installation identifier, the encrypted address and its hash, order and payment identifiers and statuses, a recovery-code hash, processing times, and the status of access and receipt preparation. This information is used only for payment, activation, recovery, refunds, support and the seller's obligations as a self-employed person.
Bank card details are entered on the secure YooKassa page and Pocket Measure never receives them. The server re-checks the payment status through the YooKassa API; returning to the app alone does not activate Pro. Payment and accounting records are kept for as long as needed to perform the contract, handle requests and meet applicable requirements. Requests can be sent to support@pocketmeasure.ru; information that must be kept by law cannot be deleted until the mandatory period ends.
